The Beginning of Our Story …

Troubled by the “lack of good teaching” on the Internet and inspired by Romans 12:1-2, Duncan Rein and J. Sebastian Traeger founded our parent company Renewal Enterprises in October 1999.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Determined to help Christian ministries carve out a presence in and begin to effectively use this revolutionary new communication tool known as the Internet, that step was soon followed by the launching of LifeAudio.com as a clearinghouse for thousands of sermons and audio messages. Then the acquisition of Lightsource.com followed by Christianity.com positioned the pioneering team of Silas Partners at the forefront of the Christian ministry and church communities move toward the World Wide Web.

The birth of Silas Partners …

Silas Partners cut its full-service agency teeth in the earliest days of content management systems, e-mail communication, online giving and website designs as it began providing state-of-the-art support to hundreds of churches and ministries at the beginning of 2002.

With so many ministry clients trying to define what a web presence meant and how they were going to anticipate and navigate this quickly changing technology environment, our leadership quickly recognized the need for the type of strategy, creative, implementation and technology services required to help ministries move beyond a website mentality and toward building a strategic web presence.

By 2005, our team had developed not only an expertise in helping ministries and churches develop a strategic web presence – but a passion and a heart-felt desire to focus full-time on helping these organizations harness the synergy that comes from integrated web communication strategies to expand their reach and fulfill their missions.

The result – Christianity.com and LightSource.com were sold to Salem Communications where they continue to flourish and serve the Christian broadcast and teaching community …

… and the pioneering team devoted to serving ministries and churches continued their work under the banner of Silas Partners, a scriptural namesake committing us to devote our best industry expertise to serving as your “faithful brother.”
