Web Designer

Silas Partners is seeking a qualified candidate to serve in the role of Web Designer. Our graphic designers play an integral role in the four services areas Silas Partners offers to clients; strategy, creative, technology, and implementation.

By integrating their understanding of the Christian marketplace with industry best practices for managing complex web projects, graphic designers work to visually communicate the strategic objectives for our clients’ online communication goals while providing thoughtful designs that accommodate all visual goals and objectives that help to maximize their online brand. They work closely with web developers for the execution of strategy while working closely with project managers to communicate ideas with the client.

The ideal candidate will be client-centered, a good listener, well-organized, a strong problem solver, a good communicator, experienced, enthusiastic, and eager to take on responsibility and learn new skills. He/she will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while creating in an exciting, fun, teamwork-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Create award winning website designs for projects that support overall client objectives and assists in managing projects to completion.
• Communicate objectives and visual strategy clearly to the client.
• Lead or participate in internal, or client, meetings regarding strategy and design.
• Ensure that all work delivered to a client meets Silas Partners’ high standards for quality, providing feedback to team members, as needed.
• Prepare documentation as needed.
• Have knowledge of user experience best practices and overall site usability.
• Participate in Silas Partner’s marketing effort in both print and web mediums.
• Have an understanding of HTML and work along side a developer to produce the website to completion.
• Ability to work within Flash to produce user-centric interfaces and animations.
• Develop basic proficiency with member-based, online marketing technologies like Convio and Kintera.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and share best practices with other Graphic Designers to help us better serve all of our clients.

• Technically Adept - Deep technical expertise is not required, but you must be able to perform (or quickly learn) basic functions on website platforms and how they impact design.
• Team Player - You recognize that no one is good at everything, and so you work seamlessly with other team members to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
• Hard Working - Our clients are engaged in serious work and you would take seriously our obligation to serve them well. As a strategic partner, we give the extra effort that makes us more than just a vendor.
• Attention to Detail - You sweat the details, knowing that a great deal of value can be created through work that is not always glamorous.
• Good Organization - You can manage many different projects without things falling through the cracks. You instinctively know how to prioritize competing demands on your time.

Education/Experience

• A Bachelor’s of Fine Art degree with a specialization in Graphic Design or Marketing.
• 1-3 years experience in a graphic design role.
• Prior experience working in a web-related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of all standard design software packages is a must.
• Knowledge of HTML is a plus.

Local candidates preferred, but out-of-town submissions are welcome. Compensation will be commensurate with abilities and experience.
